Hockey Strength & Conditioning

Built for the game. Train the speed, power, and durability that show up on the ice.

The Hockey Development Program is the cornerstone of Team Prep Starz: a comprehensive, sport-specific system designed to enhance on-ice performance through strength, power, and agility training tailored for hockey athletes at every level.

Programming is led by Rob Pambrun, Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Niverville Nighthawks of the MJHL — so the work in the gym is built around the real demands of competitive hockey, not generic fitness.

Every athlete starts with an assessment, trains on a plan written for their position and goals, and is coached on the details that translate to faster shifts, harder battles, and a longer, healthier season.

Speed & Agility

Explosive starts, edge work, and change-of-direction are trained through targeted acceleration, sprint mechanics, and multi-directional drills. The goal is simple: get to loose pucks first and separate when it matters, with movement quality that carries from the turf to the ice.

Power Development

Lower-body and rotational power drive every stride and shot. Training blends foundational strength with explosive, hockey-specific power work so athletes can generate force quickly — the quality that underpins skating speed, shot velocity, and physical play.

Injury Prevention & Durability

A robust athlete is an available athlete. Sessions build resilient hips, knees, and core, address common hockey movement patterns, and emphasize the recovery and structural work that helps athletes hold up through a long, demanding season.
